Get started

xvii is installed on your own servers. One server, the control plane, runs the platform services behind Caddy and PostgreSQL. More servers, nodes, can join to run your apps. Everything is reached under one domain: the dashboard at https://xvii.network, each service at https://<service>.xvii.network.

Two ways in

I want my own instance: you have a server and a domain and want to run xvii on them.
I have an account on an instance: someone invited you; install the CLI and start deploying.

The path through this section

Install an instance

xvii server install root@your-server sets up PostgreSQL, Caddy, the node agent, id and home, and prints a link that creates the first account. See Install an instance.

One binary for every service. Sign in through the browser with your passkey. See Install the CLI.

Put something online

A static site with xvii pages deploy (first site), then a container with a database (first app).
